Updated 30 September 2026

30 September 2026 (pricing and Content and conduct; earlier edition of 15 September carried every payment through TradeBook and Market orders). Short on purpose. A director can read it. Every rule below is the rule the app actually enforces; if the app and this page ever disagree, tell us and we fix the app.

1. What TradeBook is

TradeBook is a live book for funeral trade work: first calls, trade embalming, a down machine, a vault set, a grave open and close, equipment for sale. Homes, cemeteries and crematories post the work. Vendors bid. The home picks.

TradeBook is a booking record. TradeBook is not a funeral establishment, is not a carrier, does not take custody of remains, does not supervise the work, and is not a party to the job or the sale. The home and the vendor do the work and are responsible for it.

2. Your account

  • One account per person. Use a real firm email or phone. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in, including passkeys and sessions you leave open. Sign out of a lost device from Account → Security.
  • Keep posts, bids and listings honest. Do not post photos you have no right to show. Photos stay with the job, the listing or the equipment log they belong to.
  • Demo accounts exist for testing. Anything you do in a demo account is not a real job, bid, award or payment.
  • Vendors and homes are independent businesses. Nobody on TradeBook is TradeBook's employee, contractor, agent or partner, and TradeBook does not direct, schedule or supervise anyone's work.

3. The book

  • A bid is an offer: price, arrival time and method. An award is the home's choice. TradeBook never picks the winner, and cheapest never wins by itself.
  • Bids are sealed. No vendor sees another vendor's price, how many bids there are, or who else bid. The home sees all bids. This applies to everyone, including TradeBook's founder.
  • A home may name a requested vendor on a post. That vendor sees the job first for 30 minutes. If they decline or the window passes, the job opens to the rest of the book. Nothing is awarded automatically.
  • Withdrawing a bid keeps the record of it. Awarding a withdrawn bid is not possible.
  • Contact details for the other side stay hidden until the job or order is paid on TradeBook.
  • What happens on the job is between the home and the vendor. If you have a claim against another user (a missed pickup, damage, an unpaid bill, a bad rating, anything else), it is against that user, and you release TradeBook from it.

4. Money

  • Trial and seats: every new account gets 14 days free with full use, once. After that, browsing the book, the Directory and the Market stays free. Posting, bidding, selling and invoicing need an active plan or that trial. A funeral home pays $79 a month or $790 a year per location, with three teammates included and $5 a month for each teammate after that. A vendor pays $49 a month or $490 a year, and $5 a month for each teammate. Founding vendors, the first 25, pay $149 for year one, then $490 a year. Seats renew until you cancel under Account → Subscription. A price you already pay stays until you change plans. A job, invoice or order already priced keeps the fee stored on it.
  • Referrals: when someone you invited pays for their first seat, your next month is free (one free month per referral, up to twelve a year; founding-vendor seats do not earn or receive referral months).
  • Priority listing is no longer sold. A vendor who already pays $29 a month for Priority keeps that price and that placement until they cancel. It does not change how bids are shown, ranked or awarded.
  • Book fee: 6 percent of the job, on top of the bid, minimum $5 and maximum $250. The home pays it. The amount is the same by card or by bank, and there is no separate card line on a booking. The vendor keeps the full bid. A $400 job means the home pays $424 and the vendor receives $400. Change orders count toward the same job, and the cap and minimum apply once per job.
  • Pay on TradeBook is payment through Stripe by card, or by US bank account where offered. The home pays at award. The vendor is paid out when the home marks the job done, or automatically after the release window. Vendors receive payouts through their Stripe Connect account and must complete Stripe onboarding to be paid. Bank payments clear in four to five business days, and a payout cannot leave before the payment has cleared.
  • Change orders: a vendor may request a change on a live job. Nothing is added until the home approves it. Fees are calculated on the approved total, never the requested one.
  • No-shows and cancellations: if the home closes a paid job as no-show or cancelled, the payment is refunded to the home, including the book fee. TradeBook does not mediate or decide disputes between a home and a vendor; the parties settle any disagreement about the work between themselves. Card payments made through TradeBook remain subject to Stripe's rules, and if a card payment is charged back, TradeBook may recover the disputed amount from the vendor's payout for that job.
  • Every payment on TradeBook runs through TradeBook. There is no settle-direct option.
  • Market orders: the buyer pays the item price. The seller pays 5 percent of that price. TradeBook holds the payment. The seller is paid the item price minus that fee when the buyer confirms delivery, or three days after the seller marks the order shipped. An order the seller has not shipped within fourteen days is refunded to the buyer in full (every dollar the buyer paid). Before it ships, either side can refund it; after it ships, the seller can. A shipped order that is wrong is settled between the buyer and the seller, with a refund from the seller through TradeBook. An order already priced keeps the fee stored on it.
  • Taxes: payments made on TradeBook are reported by the payment processor on Form 1099-K where the law requires. TradeBook may offer a year-end summary as a convenience. It is a record, not tax advice or a tax form.

5. Credentials

Vendors represent and warrant that they hold every license, registration, and permit their state requires for the work they bid, and that they carry insurance appropriate to it. The burden of holding, maintaining, and proving those credentials rests entirely with the vendor. Vendors agree to produce proof on request, including at the job site, and a home may decline the job if proof is not produced. TradeBook does not verify, confirm, endorse, or guarantee any vendor's licensing, insurance, or workmanship, and performs no background, credential, or fitness check of any kind. Any credential information shown on TradeBook is supplied by the vendor or reported by a home; TradeBook records it and does not adopt it. TradeBook is not a funeral establishment, does not supervise the work, and does not take custody of remains. Homes are responsible for satisfying themselves as to any vendor's credentials before releasing remains or authorizing work. Vendors indemnify TradeBook against claims arising from work they perform or credentials they misrepresent.

A home may log on the job whether proof was shown. That log is the home's own report. It is displayed as such and is never a finding by TradeBook.

6. The founder is also a vendor

TradeBook is run by TJ Standridge, who also operates an equipment repair business. That business bids equipment jobs on the book as an ordinary vendor, under the same sealed-bid rules as everyone else, and receives no information about other bids. TradeBook displays work and records bookings. It is not a party to any job, does not supervise the people performing or offering the work, and does not decide disputes about it, including on jobs Standridge Death Care Repair bid on. Concerns about a bid from that business: hello@tradebook.co and we show you the bid record.

7. Market

Market listings are sold by the seller, not by TradeBook. TradeBook is not a party to the sale, does not inspect goods, and does not guarantee condition, title or delivery. A service history that travels with a listing is a copy of the seller's log, provided as is. When a Market sale is paid on TradeBook, the buyer pays the item price and the seller pays 5 percent.

8. Ratings

After a job closes, each side may rate the other. Ratings are hidden until both sides have rated or the reveal window closes, so neither side rates in reaction to the other. Ratings are the opinion of the person who left them.

9. Content and conduct

TradeBook has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

  • Don't post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, fraudulent or spam, and don't share anyone's private information. That includes anything about a person in a firm's care.
  • Every listing, job, firm profile and message has Report and Block. Blocking a firm hides its posts from your whole firm and stops it from messaging you or bidding on your jobs. You can undo it on the phone under Workspace → Blocked firms, and on the web under Account → Blocked firms.
  • We review every report within 24 hours. Content reported by three different firms is hidden until we review it.
  • We remove content that breaks these rules. We suspend or remove the account that posted it.
  • Offensive words are refused when you post.

10. Ending things

  • You can delete your account in the app under Account → Danger. Jobs you posted are hidden; records of paid jobs and custody cases are kept as long as the law requires.
  • TradeBook may suspend or remove an account that posts fake jobs, bids dishonestly, misrepresents credentials, is reported by homes for failing to produce proof, or posts objectionable content or abuses other users (see Content and conduct). Removal from the book is a business decision about who may use it, not a finding about anyone's license.
  • You accept these terms when you create an account, when you subscribe, and again whenever we publish a new version; the app will ask before you can post, bid, sell, invoice or pay. TradeBook may change these terms; the date at the top is the version you accepted.

11. Liability

TradeBook provides the book as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise that the book is error-free, always up, or that any vendor, home, bid, listing, credential or rating is accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • TradeBook is not liable for the work, the remains, the goods, the driving, the premises, the people, or any payment between the parties beyond what Stripe actually processes.
  • TradeBook is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost business, lost profits or lost data, even if told they were possible.
  • TradeBook's total liability to you for anything arising from the book is limited to the greater of the fees you paid TradeBook in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred dollars.
  • You will defend and indemnify TradeBook, TJ Standridge and anyone working on TradeBook against claims, losses and legal costs that come from your use of the book, your posts, bids, listings, ratings or photos, the work you perform or order, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or anyone's rights.

Some states do not allow some of these limits; where a limit is not allowed, it applies as far as it can.

12. Disputes with TradeBook

Disagreements between users are theirs (Section 4). If you have a dispute with TradeBook itself, email hello@tradebook.co first and we will try to sort it out within thirty days. If we cannot, you and TradeBook agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's commercial rules, in Alabama or by video, one arbitrator, each side paying its own lawyers. No class actions, class arbitrations or jury trials. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@tradebook.co within thirty days of first accepting these terms. Alabama law governs these terms.
